Essay on Research and Planning

At the beginning of my college year I did not have many creative skills to use towards my first college magazine which I produced myself with no extra help. I had already had experience in creativity with using cameras of smart phones but apps such as indesign and photoshop I was not very advanced at. For the college magazine also I did jot do any research ans planning of textual analysis and drafting, which effected the end result massively as I was not aware of the conventional layouts or colouring therefore it did not match existing college magazines. Also, since I did not do any drafting my first draft was my final draft and I had no practice so the magazine was not professional looking. However, for my music magazine there was a bit of research and planning completed so, I was able to gather conventional components that I could include/copy to make the magazine more recognisable to the chosen genre which was pop. Not all of the following elements will be seen in every horror film amd there are also a few more mentioned to explore, however they will all at least contain a few as they are essential and create great meaning behind a storyline.  Religious symbols are used in a wide variety of movies, such as "The Devil Inside" and "The Conjuring" where there is a strong link to god or other spirits that have come back to punish victims. In each of these films, there are also many props such as crucifixes and bibles which are used to perform exorcisms on possessed beings. Each of these reinforce the strong sense of morality that is focused on within the film and the battle of good vs evil. The light and colours within a film and even simply a trailer are extremely distinct to the horror genre as stereotypical ideas have caused us to f...
